Black Friday

Backstory
Back in the day (when I was still on facebook) I posted something on my wall on Thanksgiving about that for which I was thankful (either my wife or daughter will critique my grammar). One friend (who shall remain nameless), replied that he would be thankful if he didn’t have to ever see my profile picture again (or something like that). I had my daughter take the picture that you see to the right and then posted it as a new profile picture.

I wrote the song over this song weekend, posting the YouTube video in facebook. The funny thing is that I eventually took the video off of facebook because so many of my friends and family thought that I was actually having a fight.

Lyrics
You were always small of stature and of mind
You were never giving you were never kind
Friendships bought and paid for with the money in your hand
should have known from the start you would not understand

They call it “Black Friday”, and now I know why
You hurt my feelings… made me cry
I tried to befriend you I did all I could
should have known from the start that you were no good

Eric, are you thankful now?
You destroyed the trust between us when you started this row
We could patch things over, but I don’t know how
Oh Eric, are you thankful now?

It was thanksgiving day when I went to my facebook account
asked a genuine question, “He dude, whatchya thankful about?”
you took your vitriol and you turned it on me
said my profile pic was too ugly to see

Eric, are you thankful now?
You took my feelings and crushed them somehow
when you look in the mirror you just see a fat cow

Eric, are you thankful now?
Well you look like a buffalo and you smell like a sow
Oh we could patch things over, but I don’t know how
Oh Eric, are you thankful now?
